Encounter is a new relaxed evening service of modern worship, prayer and community in Ramsey and Warboys, Cambridgeshire.
"Worship" - literally, means to give worth to something. Encounter is a space for you to come as you are to worship God, to encounter the worth of the Creator of the universe and to encounter your own worth to the God who knows and loves you.
We try to create a relaxed and informal space for you to worship in whatever way you feel comfortable, through music, artistic expression, creative prayer activities, and with spaces for you to be alone or with others.
Art therapy with God
Church should be a place where everyone can find space to come as they are and explore who God is. At Encounter, we want you to feel welcome whether you have never stepped into a church building before or whether you are very familiar with these surroundings.
We want to create time and space for the possibility of relaxation, exploration, and even healing, through creative worship. One of our team described this as being like 'art therapy with God'.

Encounter is planned and led by a small team of Christians from Warboys, Ramsey and the surrounding area.
We are endorsed by and accountable to the leadership team at Warboys Parish Church.
For Encounter to happen we also need a team of volunteers that fill many different roles such as tech, projection, greeters, set-up, pack down, refreshments and more. If you are able we would hugely appreciate your help in making this happen.

We are committed to creating a safe environment for all who attend Encounter. We follow the practice guidance laid out in the Safeguarding Policies of Warboys Parish Church, the 4Parishes and the Diocese of Ely.
We commit to seek to create a culture where everyone is included, respected, listened to, and taken seriously. We also endeavour to create an environment that is physically safe, emotionally nurturing, intellectually open, spiritually healthy and socially inclusive. We have Parish Safeguarding Officers to ensure that what we do is informed by up-to-date policies and procedures from local and national authorities. Our overall leaders have completed relevant safeguarding training for children and adults and we endeavour to make information available to foster and encourage a culture of care.
